US, Iran exchange attacks around the Strait of Hormuz | Story

The U.S. military said it would launch a third strike overnight against Iran, just hours before President Donald Trump announced the reimposition of a naval blockade on Iran.

Missile explosions and attacks on ships were reported on Monday as the United States and Iran exchanged fire as they push the rivals to control the Strait of Hormuz.

Missiles hit the area around the Iranian city of Konarak, according to Iranian media late Monday. Earlier, it was reported that at least four bombs were heard east of Bandar Abbas, a port city on the mainland, according to a regional reporter. However, the initial report said that the source of the explosion was not known.

Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported that several “violating” vessels in the river had been targeted.

The dispute over the status of the Strait of Hormuz, where 20 percent of the world’s forces were deployed before the war, has threatened the agreement between Washington and Tehran, which led to several threats on Sunday night.

More to come…
