URC: No excuses for Cardiff against Stormers in Cape Town

Cardiff confirmed their quarter-final qualification with a 22-16 win A set up against the Stormers Rematch in South Africa.

The game will be played in Cape Town which means there are no problems with altitude, so Cardiff will start the week training in Wales and finish in South Africa.

“The beauty of Cape Town, it’s at sea level and it’s winter,” says McNally.

“So nothing too big to prepare for. We’ll do most of our training here, then come down for the smash and grab and see where we’re at.”

The Stormers will be strong favorites to seek revenge.

“It’s set up perfectly for us,” McNally said.

“You see the best of us when we’re underdogs. Nobody gave us a chance last Friday and we came out a bit between the teeth.

“You can say there are a few challenges next week but we’ll go out there and do something.

“We know exactly how we want to play. We’re really excited to be playing rugby at this time of year when everyone else is off.

“It gives the guys a new experience playing in the playoffs and it’s an exciting time.”
