France Football magazine, together with the European Football Association, announced the official date of the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony, which will witness an exceptional event this year.
According to the data published by the official website of the European Union (UEFA), the “Golden Ball” ceremony will take place next October 26 in London, the capital of England, becoming the first time that the city will host the most famous global event in the world of individual football awards.
The choice of London is a remarkable shift in the award’s history, after Paris hosted the ceremony in previous years, notably at the Theater du Chatelet, which witnessed Ousmane Dembele’s crowning at the last edition of the World Player of the Year award.
The upcoming World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico, is expected to play a crucial role in determining the identity of the award winner, especially as the ceremony draws to a close at the end of the world tournament.
The event is not limited to the best player award but also includes a number of other individual awards for best female player, best young player, best goalkeeper and others.
