United Rugby Championship: Munsters bow out of Crawley for quarter-final meeting with Bulls

Munster fly-half Jack Crowley has been ruled out of Saturday’s United Rugby Championship quarter-final against the Bulls in Pretoria (12:00 BST).

Ireland number 10 was named in the Irish province’s starting line-up for their final regular URC game against the Lions nine days ago but was withdrawn before kick-off as Clayton McMillan’s side won 24-17 and secured their place in the play-offs.

Crowley previously missed the defeat to Connacht when he withdrew just before Munster’s game against Ulster at the end of April.

On a more positive note, Finnin Wycherley and Alex Nankivell have both returned to training after being withdrawn from the matchday squad to face the Lions.

The Munster squad will leave for South Africa on Tuesday and arrive in Pretoria on Wednesday.
