UK Weather: Temperatures will drop but relief from the heat may be short-lived.

After record-breaking temperatures, the UK is set for cooler weather this week, but the relief may not last long.

New June temperature records were set on three consecutive days last week, ending with 37.3C at Santon Downham in Suffolk, breaking the previous June record of 35.6C set in 1976.

This week, as southwesterly winds arrive from the Atlantic, temperatures will drop and low pressure areas will bring some rain.

However, by the end of the week, high pressure could become more dominant when another heat wave is on the way.
