UK Weather: Heat wave forecast for May Bank Holiday weekend?

A heat wave in the UK has been reported by the Met Office for at least three consecutive days with daily maximum temperatures above county-specific limits, marking unusually warm weather for the year.

Heatwave threshold temperatures vary across the UK. It is 28 Celsius in Greater London and 25 Celsius in Northern Ireland.

A few locations could meet the definition of a heat wave on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Currently, counties such as Herefordshire and Worcestershire are most likely.

But much will depend on whether showers develop over the Bank Holiday weekend.
