UK Weather: Heat-health alerts have been issued with temperatures of 30C possible for 10 days.

With several nights after the last heat wave where the temperature did not drop below 20C (68F) – also known as a warm night – this warm weather will be more forgiving.

Nighttime temperatures are not expected to be as high as in June, although some large urban areas could stay in the high twenties overnight. This can be especially after the week.

A warm night is not out of the question in a few places.

Although this heat wave allows for overnight relief, the length of the heat spell makes it different from what is seen in May and June.

Current forecasts suggest temperatures could exceed 30C somewhere in the UK for up to 10 consecutive days.

June’s heat wave saw seven days in a row of temperatures above 30C in the UK. In the May heat wave, it was six days.
