UK Weather: Cold forecast for mid-week as arctic air moves in

Monday will start with frost in Scotland, northern England and south-east England, even in the morning.

There will be some showers moving south across the UK with plenty of dry and sunny weather in between.

But temperatures in the UK on Monday will be between 9 and 14C.

While temperatures may rise slightly on Tuesday, they will drop again from Wednesday.

With air coming from northern Scandinavia and the Arctic Circle, temperatures will average around 3 to 7C.

Low pressure will become more dominant with some strengthening winds and showers.

In the colder weather these baths can be a bit wintery in the highlands of Scotland, which is unusual this time of year.

Daytime temperatures will be around 9 to 14C and nighttime temperatures will be around 3 to 6C, although it can be cooler in the countryside.

Gardeners beware that some rural ground may still be frosty.
