UK Weather: Amber heat health warnings are in place as heat wave conditions continue

Parts of the south and east officially warmed up on Monday after three days of temperatures at or above that.

Heat wave requirements were largely met on Tuesday as temperatures soared to 32.4C in both Teddington, Richmond-on-Thames and also Frittenden, Kent.

More places could reach 34C or 35C over the coming days, with the warmest areas likely to be in southern England.

Warmth will continue to build and move north and west into Northern Ireland and Scotland into Friday. Here the maximum is expected in the 20s Celsius.

As high pressure moves in towards the end of the week, easterly winds will cool parts of eastern England.

The focus of the heat will be further west, particularly across southern England. South Wales could also see highs of 33C on Friday.
