Ubuntu architecture has been down for over a day

Ubuntu and Canonical’s architecture went down just hours after researchers released powerful tools that allow untrusted users in data centers, universities, and elsewhere to gain powerful root control of servers running almost all Linux distributions, including Ubuntu. The shutdown has limited Ubuntu to communicate security instructions to affected users. As mentioned earlier, changes are available from the mirror.

Stressor sites, also known as booter sites, have used them decades. DDoS-as-a-service operators have come under legal scrutiny in several countries, but efforts to curb the epidemic have not been successful.

It is unclear why the infrastructure has been unavailable for so long. There are many DDoS protection resources available, one of which is free.
