Wakefield Trinity have confirmed hooker Tyson Smoothy will join new NRL side Perth Bears at the end of the season after being released from his contract on compassionate grounds.
The 27-year-old Australian joined Trinh on a three-year deal for this campaign but head coach Darryl Powell said earlier this month that He will leave at the end of 2026.
Smoothy scored four tries in 21 appearances in all competitions to help Wakefield finish second in the Super League.
