Tyson Fury will fight Poland’s Marius Wach in Thailand on July 24.
Fury’s fight in Pattaya – Joshua, 38, trains on July 25 against Christian Pringa in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a day before his return – his first fight since being involved in a car accident in Nigeria in December 2025 that killed two of his friends.
Fury and 36-year-old Joshua will have to win their fight to set up a 2026 meeting between the two former world champions.
The 46-year-old Wach has a record of 20 wins, 39 of 51 fights.
But the Pole has won just three of his 10 bouts and faces a rematch with Britain’s Moses Itauma in July 2024 for the WBO Intercontinental heavyweight title.
In the year In 2019, he lost to English boxers Dillian Whyte and Fraser Clarke four years later.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced in April that he had signed on to fight London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Fury.
The announcement came after Fury returned from a 15-month retirement to beat Russia’s Arslanbek Makhmudov on points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
After that win, Fury immediately called Joshua out on the phone and the pair exchanged words with the Morecambe fighter trying to get his rival in the ring.
Due to the involvement of Saudi Arabian power broker Turki Alshik, there is growing speculation that the fight could be held in the United States.
But last week Hearn spoke to BBC Sport’s Joshua and Fury. They are contractually bound to take their fights in the UK.
Fury has already hinted that the temporary fight will take place Dublin on the 1st of August.
