Two-thirds of Americans think AI is advancing rapidly

According to A recent Pew Research study49 percent of Americans say they use chatbots sometimes, but 63 percent think technology is advancing too fast. Overall, the use of AI chatbots has grown significantly since 2024, with only 33 percent reporting using them. In particular, the use of ChatGPT has doubled since 2023, with 44 percent of respondents saying they have used it. But the mind stay badonly 16 percent say that AI will have a positive impact on society.

Interestingly, it is the younger generations who say they both use AI the most and prefer to have it to see without hope. 66 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 are using chatbots, but 48 percent of people in the same age group believe AI will have a negative impact, and only 14 percent believe it will have a positive impact. Older generations say they use chatbots less, and have negative attitudes.

Although the youngest respondents surveyed had used AI at all, with 30 to 49 year olds the most active, 34 percent said they turn to chatbots once a day or more. This is likely due to the fact that nearly four in ten Americans reported using AI job duties. 30 percent of Americans think AI makes them more productive, and 28 percent believe it helps them learn more. Although, as we know, more was sent on AI can be doubtful (good), and in the 2024 Pew survey, 66 percent US officials have said they are concerned about AI spreading misinformation.
