Two people died in a light plane crash in Essex

Two people have died after a light plane crashed in a field, police said.

The two-seater Cessna plane went down from Mill Lane in High Ongar, Essex, at 12.30pm BST on Tuesday.

Det Supt Morgan Cronin said it took off from North Weald Airfield “on what was expected to be a short journey”.
