Casting Joseph Fiennes as Gareth Southgate in James Graham’s award-winning drama was a hit, and he is reprising the role on screen. It follows Gareth in post-Brexit Britain, as he is called upon to take the England team into a new era and restore hope. “Maybe we won’t win the World Cup,” he told the team, which was not surprised by his performance. “The good news is, no one is waiting for us.” When she brings psychiatrist Pippa Grange (Jodie Whittaker) into the fold, conversations about men’s health begin to open up – and punishments begin to be handed down. When a social media celebrity chef is found dead in his charred seafood shack, the finger is pointed at the jealous owner. Retired TV writer John (Timothy Spall) is feeling sorry for himself when he arrives in a seaside town after breaking up with Yvonne (Melanie Walters). But he and detective Janie (Gwyneth Keyworth) are trying to solve the murder. HR
