The 1990s western is one of several movies retelling events related to the Gunfight at the OK Corral, where Wyatt Earp (Kurt Russell) and his lawmen attempted to take down a gang in the town of Tombstone, Arizona. But what sets this version apart from the rest is the turn of Val Kilmer as the sick doc Holliday, a brief but clear voice from the great Robert Mitchum, and several of the most impressive ‘arrivals this side of the Rio Grande. Los Angeles, 2019. A classic night of neo-noir. It’s the job of the detective who was a good hunter Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) to investigate and “break” the criminals. But what if Rick can’t tell humans from their bioengineered counterparts? Ridley Scott’s 1982 film was a relative when it was first released, but is now considered one of the greatest science fiction films of all time. This “final cut” released in 2007 combines various elements such as German expressionism, Italian futurism and “Hong Kong on a very bad day” into a visual style. EEJ
