Marking the 85th anniversary of the end of the blitz, this moving documentary gathers eyewitness accounts from people who were children in London and other cities targeted by the Luftwaffe’s bombing campaign but were not evacuated. Thanks to the performances of Steve Carell as writer Greg and Charly Clive as his professor’s daughter Katie, this comedy remains firmly between snark and poigner. In the end, Katie finally sets boundaries with her parents and makes a decision about her marriage. But where does this leave Greg? PH

Sisu (Jalmari Helander, 2022), 9.30pm, Movie 4

He doesn’t say anything throughout the film, but when your job is to take out the Nazis in a variety of brutal ways, there’s no asking for much. Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila) is a gold prospector in 1944 Lapland when the German army left Finland. But he’s also known as the Immortal, because of his constant killing of Russians as a commando – which is where a small group of Germans make a mistake when they steal what they’ve found in precious metals. Bloody violence ensues in a satisfying chase game that has already released sequels. Simon Wardell
