She plays Tamsin, a beautiful girl who teams up with tomboy Mona (Natalie Press) over one summer in West Yorkshire’s Calder Valley. Paddy Considine is Phil, Mona’s older brother, whose recent religious conversion seems to hide violent tendencies. All in all it’s the contemporary lesbian Wuthering Heights of our dreams, the Bafta winner from Paweł Pawlikowski, who just picked up his second top prize at Cannes this year. Ellen E Jones
