Tuchel loses his temper and shouts at the England star against Ghana

England coach Thomas Tuchel criticized his player Jed Spence yesterday, Tuesday, during the Three Lions’ 2026 World Cup match against Ghana, which ended in a goalless draw.

After an exciting start and victory against Croatia last week (4-2), The Three Lions struggled against Ghana in Group Stage 2.

Spence started at left-back against the Black Stars in one of two changes made by the England manager, with Mark Gehey also returning to the starting line-up in place of John Stones.

In the days leading up to the game, a training video emerged showing Tuchel shouting at Spence as the German coach told his player to “wake up” after he hesitated to pass the ball in a passing drill.

This scene was repeated on Tuesday evening, when the left back of “Tottenham” again felt the wrath of his coach. Tuchel repeatedly shouted Spence’s name throughout the second half, apparently angry at his decision to make a mismatched run from the wing.

While Spence shrugged his shoulders in response, Tuchel was seen shouting at his player, saying: “Pass and go,” before leaving in a huff, according to the paper.subway“English.

Tuchel decided to remove Spence from the field in the 65th minute, and instead brought on his partner Nico O’Reilly.

There was no shot on goal for England until the 57th minute, missing the opportunity to secure a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.

But Tuchel has called for calm ahead of next Sunday’s final group game against Panama.

“Don’t worry, we will always try to win games. We tried today,” Tuchel said when asked if he had a message for the fans.

He added: “I think the enthusiasm, the drive and the team spirit was quite evident. Everyone tried and did their best.”

He continued. “We play in a very difficult group, we had a difficult first and a difficult second match. I saw other matches in the second groups that were not at this level and this is the reality.”

He continued. “The Panama match will not be easy. They may be unknown but they played very well against Ghana so it’s a tough group and we knew that.”

He concluded. “It tests us in different ways that will help us once we get into the playoffs.”
