US President Donald Trump has informed FIFA President Gianni Infantino that the United States will reapply to host the World Cup, after he hailed the 2026 World Cup as a huge success.
Trump competed in the final match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, his first appearance in the tournament, which spanned more than six weeks.
Spain, Portugal and Morocco are set to host the 2030 World Cup, with the opening three matches being played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay to mark the tournament’s centenary.
