Deep mistrust remains between Washington and Tehran with Iran saying ‘no final deal’ has been reached with the US.

United States President Donald Trump says he will meet in the Situation Room to make a “final determination” on what could be done. sales and Iran that could extend the closure and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In his latest speech on the Truth Social platform, Trump on Friday set many conditions for Tehran to accept, including: not having a nuclear weapon or bomb, the Strait of Hormuz being open on both sides and without tolls, the removal of the remaining mines in the Strait, and the US digging up and destroying Iran’s rich uranium that has been buried.

“Ships caught in the Strait as a result of our extraordinary and unprecedented blockade, which has now been lifted, may begin the process of ‘going home!'” Trump wrote.

“No money will be changed until further notice. Some things, not really important, we have agreed. I will meet now, in the Support Center, to make the final confirmation,” he said.

Reports from the White House, Al Jazeera’s Patty Culhane said that in the past, the Trump administration had indicated that an agreement had been reached, but found that it had not.

“If it was a deal, it would be a whole list of what the US wants and none of what the Iranians are asking for,” he said.

Doubts about the details of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) have grown over the past week amid mistrust between the two sides as they seek to end the three-month war.

On Thursday, White House sources said Al Jazeera that the US and Iran had agreed in depth to extend the ceasefire for 60 days to allow negotiations, but Trump did not sign it.

On Friday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said that no agreement with the US has been reached so far.

Speaking to Iran’s state TV, he said Tehran is focused on ending the war, not discussing Iran’s nuclear program. He also said that the management of the Strait of Hormuz should be considered by Iran and Oman.

Earlier on Friday, the negotiator with Iran, Ghalibaf, said that Tehran did not believe in “assurances and words, only actions are the way to go”.

“Nothing will happen until the other side does,” he said in a statement, without elaborating.

“The winner of any deal is the one who is ready to fight the next day,” the Iranian official added.

However, the Iranian journalist Fars, citing sources, said on Friday that the agreement with the US is in its final stages of approval, but no final decision has been made.

The sources stressed that there is no mention of destroying Iran’s nuclear weapons in the MOU and added that arrangements for reopening the Strait of Hormuz would include surveillance and monitoring of ships.
