Trippier surprises everyone…an unexpected destination after Newcastle

Wolverhampton FC have officially announced the signing of English right-back Kieran Trippier on a free transfer from Newcastle United following the termination of his contract with the Magpies.

The club confirmed on their official website that the 35-year-old international has joined in a move aimed at bolstering the squad with experience and leadership as part of their bid for a swift return to the Premier League.

Experience and leadership

Trippier represents a quality addition for Wolverhampton, having previously played for Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, making 160 appearances for the latter and contributing to the team’s Carabao Cup win.

The former Newcastle captain is expected to bring his leadership experience and superior defensive and attacking skills to a team undergoing an ambitious rebuilding phase in England’s First Division (Championship).

Ascension Ambition

Wolverhampton are betting on Trippier to challenge strongly for the Championship League title this season and return to the English Premier League as soon as possible.

The English full-back is considered to have a long career in English football, as he also played for Atletico Madrid in Spain and participated in several major tournaments with the English national team.
