Towards an Asian seat… Conceicao hails Al-Nusairi’s career at the Union


The Moroccan striker missed the last match against Al-Etifaq

Portugal’s Sergio Conceicao, the Al-Ittihad coach, has revived the career of his Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nessiri, following his efforts to finish fifth in the preliminary round of the elite AFC Champions League.

Al-Ittihad will host Al-Shabaab in the postponed match of the twenty-eighth round of the Roshan League at the SHG Arena tomorrow, Sunday, where a win would be enough to officially secure them an Asian spot.

Today, Saturday, Conceicao announced the list that will travel to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to host the Al-Shabaab match.

The list saw the return of Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesiri after the Portuguese coach decided to leave him out of the squad for the last match against Al-Etifaq, even though he was not suspended or injured.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya reported that Conceicao was choosing between Conceicao and Nigerian George Ilenekhina to list one of them.after the absence of Dutch star Steven Bergwijn due to injury.

It is noteworthy that after his transfer from “Fenerbahce” in the last winter transfer period, Al-Nusairi participated in 16 matches with “Al-Ittihad”, during which he managed to score 7 goals and make another goal assist.
