5.24 WOLVERHAMPTON – Kakira chases a hat-trick in the opener
Tuesday evening’s card at Wolverhampton sees the opening race in-form Kakira Ollie Sangster bids to complete the hat-trick Race and Rest in the Holiday Inn Handicap.
He only ran five times, but all of those runs came in a short period of time, in late February. He was gelded on his second start and, after a disappointing effort at Kempton on his first start, he recorded his first win at Bath earlier last month, winning in convincing fashion.
Less than a week later, he returned to the trip and followed up in fine style, defying punishment with some authority. He looks to be a progressive type and more may come of this lightly raced gelding.
Grindleton Daniel and Claire represented Kubler and secured the services of Oisin Murphy in pursuit of the first breakthrough. He has produced a good sequence of defeating efforts and this new trip could see further improvement in him.
But the rest of the field seems to be closely matched Port Darwin Leading the challenge, producing his best form on the trip in his last start, and Charlie Johnston will be hoping an all-weather return will see him in a better light.
4.30 Southwell – Zafimgoso take on eight rivals
Jafimgoso Eight competitors will face off Makers Market Mon 27 Jul Handicapped Barrier In Southwell for Harry and Dan Skelton.
This gelding is two wins from 10, doubling his tally last time out at Ludlow. His previous two starts were over two miles but a step up to just over two-and-a-half miles saw him in a new light, winning calmly at the line.
He is only seven years old and can be seen making further progress for the in-form skeleton operation, stepping up to three miles.
Innisfree Lass has the same sign as Jafimgoso With more experience, scoring on three occasions from 22 starts, including a course-and-distance success in his last start. This will be Joey Ramsden’s first start after switching from Stuart Edmonds.
Danny McMenamin didn’t try too hard but cruised to Southwell for three rides, trying to break his duck and make his mark aboard. Larkfield Lucive Which should have benefited from his re-emergence last month.

The gelding by Dew Diligence has been winless since his successful debut in July 2024 and is yet to score for Mark Loughnane since switching from Clive Cox in December last year. Going up the trip last time out proved to be a move that would bring out the best in him as he returned to winning ways and arrived here for the follow-up.
