It was all fun, because I’ve been swimming in these QAnon, 4chan, right-wing waters for a long time. I think it was new and scary in 2016, 2015, when you had Pepe Frog and memes of people being put in gas chambers and stuff, I had never experienced that. It was like, oh my god.

Have you ever worried about your safety?

Oh, sure. At that time, there were a few things that were like, “Ooh, maybe we should find something,” you know? Different. I’m not living behind a wall or anything, but you take precautions.

We have journalists covering the waters you swim in. And it can be very dangerous. I looked at what Alex Jones said on X about you, and everyone was like, “Fuck you, Alex Jones.”

Well, the funniest thing was I think even a lot of his followers were like, “Alex, this was a comedy.

It’s really funny for Eric and I, and for our friends, because obviously we were the people who made this, and we know who we are, and we know where our goals are.

You look at it now, and you go, “Yeah, I guess, you know, I could see you doing this wrong,” but at the time we were just laughing at each other, you know? So I’m not here to defend it. It was funny to see him being criticized for these things, sure.

But perhaps interest, too, to see how his influence has decreased?. I was surprised to find that it didn’t respond as well as I thought it would.

I wish we could get to this sooner. I mean, the whole walk is so broken. He is at war with Trump every day.

There are some things they come close to getting right. He’s on our side right now, apparently, with the war on Iran and he thinks it’s a bad idea. So, you know, he’s changing and changing, maybe for cynical reasons or whatever, trying to catch the losers, wherever the culture is going in that direction.

They should sell some extras.

It’s all about that. I think at the heart of it, I still have a sense of futility about whether revenge and justice are the consequences of your actions. Thoughts I didn’t expect to be in the middle of.

But when I learned more about these families and what they went through and everything, it felt like a great job to be a part of.
