A 23-year-old TikTok influencer accused of murdering her lover in Dubai is set to be shot dead, according to a human rights group.
Brooke George, from Gravesend, Kent, is accused of stabbing a man she was in a relationship with after they met online, a Dubai-based detention group said.
The group said she was armed with a knife to defend herself after being violently attacked by her UAE partner. The organization demanded that she be released on bail and that the case be treated as domestic violence.
“I am helping a British woman and her family detained in the United Arab Emirates,” the Foreign and Commonwealth Office said.
George, a former John Lewis employee, was arrested in the early hours of June 22 and charged with attempted murder.
She faces punishment under UAE law if found guilty.
While detained at the Bur Dubai police station, she alleged that she was forced to strip naked in front of male officers in the absence of a female officer, which she described as “very humiliating and distressing”.
