Thousands of Albanians demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister

No planning permission yet The Rama government says an environmental impact assessment has not even started but fences and bulldozers have been seen at the site.

Anger has now spread, bringing with it wider concerns about the way Albania is growing – and how it will be governed.

“I’m here for our schools,” a young protester called Helena told the BBC.

“I came here for our hospitals, I’m here for the construction of infrastructure, I’m here outside my family (Albania), and I wanted to be here. And for all that, I’m mostly here for myself, because I want to stay in my country and I don’t want to leave.”
