This supercar is made from trees, mountains, … and sea water?



To varying degrees, each type of motorsport combines sport, entertainment, and technical development. As Ars found out, there are important lessons that companies can learn from the competitionespecially when the pressure is strong like Formula 1. If you would have asked me last month, I would have said that when it comes to old racing, it’s all about sports and entertainment, with little technical development.

But that was before I spoke to Matt Faulks, director of innovation at Lola Cars, about the company’s new T70S. The first T70 debuted in 1965, and Lola built more than 100, which by the end of the 1960s were effective in short races like the Can-Am series and endurance events like Le Mans or Daytona. Finally, the T70S has become popular among the racing crowd, and as Lola rebuilds herself after bankruptcy in 2022, it is joining other manufacturers who can make you a continuous car. Lola will have 16 new cars, designed to be classic racers with FIA-approved papers such as the T70S, or as a UK-legal model, the T70S GT.

But it’s the hardware that makes the new T70S so exciting.
