This is the reason… that Bastoni refused to move to Barcelona

The Italian press reports that today, Monday, it doubts the loyalty of “Inter Milan” defender Alessandro Bastoni to move to “Barcelona” during the upcoming summer Mercato.

Reports in Italy say Barcelona are frustrated with Bastogne’s lack of pressure on Inter Milan so far, asking to leave and declaring his desire to move to the Catalan club.

He noted that Bastoni’s silence weakens Barcelona’s position in negotiations, which forces Inter to insist on a high price to complete the deal.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo have responded to the Italian reports by confirming that Bastoni is still open to a move to Barcelona and consider them the only team that could push him away from Inter Milan.

It has been revealed that Bastoni is awaiting the arrival of a formal offer from Barcelona management to Inter to request a meeting with Nerazzurri officials to request his departure.

Sources at Barcelona confirm that management have been slow to negotiate a deal to bring Bastoni in, with signing a new striker a top priority at the Mercato.

He noted that Barcelona’s management still sees Bastoni’s price as the main obstacle to the deal, as Inter value the player at €70m, while the Italian defender’s representatives believe negotiations could be settled closer to €50m.

He explained that Bastoni has already agreed to the personal terms of his contract with “Barcelona”, which is extended until 2031.

The Spanish outlet reports that Barcelona have been working to sign Bastogne since last January at the behest of Barcelona sporting director Deco, but the deal has been quiet in recent weeks.

Deco is awaiting a meeting to discuss Mercato’s options with coach Hansi Flick to get his final approval on the Bastogne deal before sending a formal offer to Inter.
