A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after his body was found in a suitcase in woodland, the Met Police have announced.
Officers were called at 22:55 BST on Thursday to reports of a possible homicide at a flat in Kingfisher Court, off Queensmere Road. No one was found inside the property, but a search led officers to believe someone was injured there, so an investigation began.
On Friday, two men, aged 27 and 32, went to Medway Police Station in Gillingham, Kent, where they were arrested. Later that day, officers found a man’s body in the borstal forest.
The victim and the two men are known, he added.
