The World Cup journey begins in the “city that never sleeps”. Al-Akhdar opens the American camp.

The delegation of the Saudi Arabian national team arrived in New York from Riyadh on Monday night to hold the first round of the preparatory meeting for the fourth and final stage of the preparation program for the 2026 World Cup.

Camp until the end of the month

Al-Akhdar will camp in New York until May 31, including a friendly against Ecuador on Saturday, May 30 at the Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey.

Official reception

According to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the team’s delegation was received at John F. Kennedy International Airport by Consul General Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Hamdan and Deputy Consul General Abdullah Al-Fawzan in New York.

Yasser Al-Meshal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Federation, thanked the consulate for the warm welcome and ease of arrival procedures.

Training starts today

Today, Tuesday, Al-Akhdar kicks off his training program with a session on the courts of the New York training center as part of the training camp’s technical program.
