The Welsh Rugby Union has delayed releasing details of the cuts to the professional side

The WRU chair has appointed external consultants Gatenby Sanderson, described as a specialist executive search firm, to support the recruitment process.

“We will carry out an independent, thorough and detailed recruitment process and install a new chair as soon as possible and before our AGM in the autumn,” said Manders.

“He has made a huge positive contribution, bringing financial security to the business and leading a welcome cultural and structural evolution across the game.”

Gatenby Sanderson will help appoint two independent members of the Professional Rugby Board (PRB), which oversees the professional game on behalf of the WRU and the four clubs.

One of these two new appointees will be elected chairman by the members of the PRB, an appointment that secures a seat on the WRU board.

Former PRB Chairman Malcolm Wall Resigned in March With Marian Oakland taking over on an interim basis.
