According to the Met Office, England has seen its warmest June on record and the second warmest on record for the UK.
The month was warm during the day and warm at night with an average temperature of 17.1C in June, nearly 3C above average. Frequent warm nights, where temperatures drop below 20C, have helped to push the average temperature up.
