The US launched a new attack on Iran as Trump warned of retaliation for the deaths of soldiers.

The US military has announced a new round of strikes to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack ships off the coast of Hormuz.

The attack – the 10th in a row overnight – came after US President Donald Trump said Iran would pay “many times over” after vowing to punish US soldiers.

Earlier, he said, Iran was “honorably” struck by the recent killing of three US soldiers – two in Jordan and one in Iraq – last night. Iranian military and communications sites were hit.

Iran has targeted Bahrain, Jordan and Syria, President Massoud Pezeshkian said, adding that Iran is now fighting an “all-out war” with the United States.

At the same time, Tehran said that even though the cease-fire agreement has been broken, diplomatic messages are still being exchanged by both sides.

Elsewhere in the region, the Jordanian military claimed to have shot down three Iranian missiles early Monday, prompting warnings across the country of possible infiltration.

He said that the Kuwaiti armed forces had detected the Iranian drones.

Bahrain says drones launched by Iran targeted its air transport systems – but traffic was unaffected.

Iran’s semi-official Taznim news agency reported on last night’s US strikes that several cities were hit, including Tabriz, Chabahar, Konarak, Brook Mahshahr and Brook Imam Khomeini.

Iranian state media reported that two oil tankers exploded as the ships tried to cross the strait.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the tankers were passing through the “unsafe and dangerous southern lane” along the coastal route and were “detonated”. Centcom disputed the claims.
