The third victim is on the way… Spain wins the World Cup coaches

Spain is close to sacking its third coach after winning the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico.

Belgium crashed out of the 2026 World Cup in the quarter-finals after losing 2-1 to Spain at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, United States of America yesterday, Friday.

Hours after the game, he got ready French website “Foot Mercato”. A report believed that coach Rudy Garcia was close to leaving Belgium at the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, despite what was being asked of him.

When the French coach took over technical responsibility in January 2025, the Belgian federation asked him to keep the team in the first level of the Europa League and qualify for the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

Despite achieving both goals, the website speculated about his departure, especially as his contract officially expires at the end of the World Cup and there has been no move by the Belgian Football Association to extend it so far.

Foot Mercato explained that this could also be due to Rudy Garcia himself, as he does not seem to want to stay in extra time when he has run into certain problems at work, be it with the medical staff or the players.

If he does leave, Rudy Garcia will be the third coach to quit after Spain’s defeat, following Argentina’s Marcelo Bielsa in Uruguay and Spain’s Roberto Martinez from Portugal’s national team.
