The tale of Wales and the Barbarians will continue with the Twickenham double header

The first of 11 meetings between the men of Wales and the Barbarians took place at Cardiff Arms Park in 1915, with the Baa-Baas winning 26-10.

The centenary of Welsh rugby union was marked in 1990 against a star-studded side featuring Nick Farr-Jones, David Campes, Jeremy Guscott, Eric Rush, Philippe St-Andre, Ian Jones and Mike Teague, who won 31–24.

That match saw Wales award caps, just as they did before the Rugby World Cup in 2011 and a year later, helping Martin Williams depart as a centurion.

Test debutants in Tandy and Lynn’s squad will not win their first cap by featuring against the Barbarians this time around.

The Barbarians won uncapped meetings with Wales in Cardiff in 2001, 2002 and 2003 before playing their first match in England in 2004.

The Mike Ruddock era began with a 42-0 win at Bristol’s Ashton Gate, the first time since 1978 that the Baa-Baas had kept a clean sheet.
