The screenless Camp Snap 2 is smaller and comes with more filters

The Camp Snap 2 is the company’s first screenless camera sequel and shooter that revolutionizes the original with a slimmer design, faster performance, out-of-the-box filters, and new features that make it easy for kids to use.

Camp Snap 2 is available starting today through the company’s online store for $69.95, which is the same price as its predecessor. Advanced color options include black, chestnut brown, mountain white, forest green, and sunbeam yellow, but the most exciting feature is the five new exposure options, which give the camera a retro feel.

There are no upgrades to the Camp Snap 2’s sensor, it still has 8 megapixels, and the camera only takes JPEG photos. What is needed is ease of use and sharing rather than any maintenance support. If you want a screen-free look and feel, you need to upgrade 16-megapixel Camp Snap Pro.

One of the Pro features dropped in Camp Snap 2 is the multi-filter. There are now six available by default, including classic and black and white, accessible via a dedicated button. With the addition of a 30.5mm thread on the lens, you also now have the option of adding physical filters to enhance the shot, although the size is not as common as before.

Other changes include a housing that is now 15 percent smaller than the Camp Snap V1 and a battery-saving sleep mode that wakes the camera as soon as you press the shutter button. For parents buying the Camp Snap 2 as their child’s first camera, the new Camp Lock feature prevents built-in filters while the memory card door now has a hinge that makes it difficult to access or accidentally open.
