The price is determined. Iraola picks up his first deal at Liverpool

“Liverpool” coach Andoni Iraola has indicated what is the first deal he wants to strengthen the ranks of the Red team, especially in midfield.

The Spanish coach has his eyes on his former “Bournemouth” star Alex Scott, which prompted the latter to set a high price for parting with the midfielder.

The latest reports come from a reliable source, TalkSport reporter Alex Crook, whose links to both clubs lend credence to claims about Scott’s future.

Crook, as well as transfer reporter Ben Jacobs, wrote in the X that Bournemouth are now eyeing an £80million loan move for Scott this summer.

According to Crook, they are “still determined to keep him” and are looking to tie him down to a new long-term contract, which could include a release clause.

Manchester United and Tottenham joined Liverpool in their interest in the player.

Antoine Simenho was available for £65m in January but his release clause would be reduced. £50m if he stays until this summer. Instead, the winger joined Manchester City midway through the season, with Bournemouth agreeing terms just below his £65m release clause with a favorable bonus structure.

As for Scott, the amount of interest in him this summer and how willing he is to sign will determine everything.

Scott’s current deal runs until 2028, and according to The Athletic, that could encourage clubs to seek a £60m deal, rather than the £80 currently being quoted.

The fact that Scott has just two years left on his contract puts him in a stronger position for clubs looking to buy him, as his market value will only decrease over the next 12 months if this contract is not extended.

Iraola was instrumental in developing Scott, who made 89 appearances for Bournemouth under the Spanish manager, into a tireless midfielder.

Scott has been on Liverpool’s radar since his breakthrough at Bristol City and they have certainly followed his progress since then, and there is a feeling that with the departures of Curtis Jones and Alexis McAllister, Scott could be an ideal addition for the Reds at the right price.
