“The only club of my dreams”. The African star gave a surprise response to Manchester United’s communication

Crystal Palace starlet Ismaila Sarr has left the door wide open for a move to Manchester United this summer after he publicly admitted the Red Devils are his only “dream club” in response to reports that revealed the English club were in contact with him.

On July 2, British specialist website Team Talk revealed that Manchester United had held talks with Sarri’s agent about a possible move to Old Trafford, after the club were impressed with the 28-year-old striker’s performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final with Senegal, where he scored four goals and provided an assist.

In the statements reported by the Senegalese media, Sar said very clearly. “My dream club. Honestly, there’s only one club. I love Manchester United with all my heart and I’m one of their biggest fans,” clearly showing his strong desire to move.

Despite his obvious excitement, Sarr confirmed in statements to the Senegalese news agency that the final decision rests with his current club, saying: “I have a 3-year contract with Crystal Palace, it’s up to them to decide. Football is my profession and I enjoy playing it.”

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their ranks after completing £85m deals for Youri Tillmans and Andre Santos, and are also in talks to sign Roma star Manu Kone for £51m.

Sarr, who led Crystal Palace to a historic Europa League title win with 9 goals and won the Man of the Match award and scored 20 goals in all competitions last season, is the ideal choice as a replacement striker for Benjamin Sisko.

Sources say Crystal Palace value the player at around £50m, but United will first need to get rid of Joshua Zirkze to finance the deal.
