Brazilian side Palmeiras have surprised Europe’s top players with their decision to sign youngster Eduardo Conceição, who is wanted by the Mercato this summer.

According to these latest reports, Palmeiras, who own Conceição’s rights, are planning to keep hold of the young talent for a while, especially given that he is under contract until 2029.
Globo Esporte newspaper reported that talks have taken place with Manchester United, in addition to Manchester City and Barcelona. Reports put the agreed price at around €25 million, plus €15 million in add-ons.
However, Palmeiras appear to have hardened their stance, wanting their promising youngster to develop into the first team ahead of agreeing a transfer deal which, according to reports, will be worth no less than €50 million in the upcoming transfer windows.

Globo Esport reported that Palmeiras had already rejected offers from England of between €20m and €25m, with Jurgen Klopp, then Red Bull’s director of global football, initially around €7m and a second offer of €10m.
In January, Mundo Deportivo reported that Eduardo Conceição’s name was linked with Barcelona’s interest.
He explained that the Catalan club had been monitoring the young winger and while they admired him, their plans were to invest heavily in the veteran striker.
