The Moroccan star is competing for the prestigious award in the Netherlands

Moroccan star Ismail Saibari is in contention for the Dutch league’s player of the year award after a superb season with his club PSV Eindhoven.

Saibari emerged as one of PSV’s most influential players during the 2025–26 season, scoring 19 goals and providing 9 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The Africa Soccer website noted that Saibari’s consistent performance in crucial matches made him a key member of the PSV Eindhoven side that won the Dutch league title.

Making it to the final list for the second year in a row, Saibari continues to cement his place among the elite players in the Netherlands.

His Eindhoven counterpart Joey Firman is also on the shortlist, along with Ajax talent Mika Godes, Heerenveen forward Jakob Trenskov and Nijmegen’s Tijaron Sherri.

The winner of the Dutch League Player of the Season award will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for May 25.
