Impressive numbers for the Saint-Germain star in the Champions League
The Spanish press have praised what Georgian Hvicha Kvaratskhelia has offered Paris Saint-Germain since signing early last year.
“AS” newspaper notes that the recent history of European football has not witnessed any transaction that corresponds to Kvaratskhelia’s influence in PSG.
In January last year, the Paris club, who had been chasing him for months, paid €70 million for a player who had no time to adapt before becoming a mainstay in Luis Enrique’s system. And if his first season was exceptional, his second season exceeds all expectations.
As in the first game, Kafara was decisive again Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.
He needed just two minutes to silence the raucous crowd at Munich’s Allianz Arena with a lightning run down the wing that led to a stunning goal from a pass to Dembele.
Paris Saint-Germain shocked Bayern with a 1-0 lead and it was their 16th goal since the start of the tournament and 7th in a row.
Cafara is the only player in Champions League history to score in seven consecutive knockout matches.
Since the start of the Champions League play-offs, he has not scored or assisted a single goal, except in the first leg of the play-offs against Monaco (2-3).

The Georgian player embodies Enrique’s style of play and is appreciated not only for his attacking prowess but also for his effective defensive contributions.
Statistics confirm his talent, as he ranks 3rd among scorers in the number of rebounds (27.6) in the Champions League, surpassed only by Barcola and Haugi.
A tireless player, a fierce fighter, capable of changing the course of a match in the opponent’s half, he undoubtedly changed the history of PSG a year and a half ago, accepting an offer from the European champions midway through last season.
His record since the start of the playoffs is amazing. Kafara has scored 7 goals and provided 4 assists in his last eight Champions League games, making a crucial contribution every 53 minutes. He has 10 Champions League goals with an expected average of 4, meaning he has scored six goals more than expected based on the positions he has shot from.
The €70 million that Paris Saint-Germain paid to sign him appears to be a bargain in light of the unprecedented inflation in the transfer market.
Kvaratskhelia already knows the taste of scoring in a Champions League final, as he did last year against Inter Milan in what will be remembered as one of the best football performances the competition has ever seen (5-0).
He will look to lead PSG in the match against Arsenal in Budapest on May 30, as he has done in all the knockout stages of this year’s Champions League.
There is no player who has come close to him in terms of determination this year and Luis Enrique has found his star when it looked like the superstar era was over with the departure of Kylian Mbappe.
The newspaper concluded its report by saying: “Cavaradonna makes history in Paris.” Referring to the nickname that was requested for him by the fans of his former club, Naples, which he attributed to the legend Maradona.
