The expected deal could happen in the summer
John Duran, the Colombian striker of Saudi Al-Nasr, has appeared in the circle of interests of the Italian club, because the end of the loan period at the Russian Zenit of St. Petersburg is approaching at the end of this June.
According to media reports, the Italian club have begun monitoring the player’s situation in preparation for the possibility of signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their attacking line with new elements in preparation for next season.
Duran joined Al-Nasr in January 2025 from English side Aston Villa in a deal worth around €77m, before later going on loan to Zenit, and his contract with Al-Alami runs until the summer of 2026.

As the Spanish newspaper “AS” reports, citing Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, “Lazio” is interested in the possibility of including the player on loan, especially since Al-Nasr does not mind the Colombian striker leaving again if the corresponding offer reaches the summer Mercato.
Duran is looking to regain his luster after a period that did not see the stability he needed, as he failed to provide the expected addition during his spell with Zenit St Petersburg, whether in terms of digital or technical influence within the team.
Some of the player’s off-field actions have also sparked controversy of late, after he asked to leave his team’s camp before the end of the season, raising questions about his future at the next stage.

Meanwhile, Duran’s name has been linked with more than one European club in recent weeks, including Turkish side Galatasaray, but the club were not keen on completing a deal due to some reservations about the player’s behavior during his previous stops.
The player’s biggest obstacle to a move to Lazio remains his high wages, with financial aspects likely to be an issue for the Italian club to complete a deal, prompting them to explore other attacking options led by Mexico’s Santiago Jimenez, the AC Milan striker, in anticipation of talks with the Al-Nasr striker falling through.
