Figure’s event may seem more difficult because it’s rare for companies to showcase experiments with humanoid robots. As this event demonstrates, such livestreams can be more transparent than short videos by allowing viewers to see robotic errors and manipulations in real time. This can boost the viewer’s confidence in the demonstrated capabilities of the robots, which are currently limited to the capabilities of the Figure 03 robot in handling packages in another warehouse.
Despite the presentation, what does this mean for the vision of Figure AI? The company is one of the bet on AI-powered robots to become full-time workers who can perform various tasks that humans do. To take on more children, humanoid robots will need to prove as capable and cost-effective as human workers or industrial robots with specialized features suited for certain tasks.
This show, focused on repetitive work, doesn’t show this kind of ability that includes different jobs or different areas—something that the Image has only shown in short videos so far. However, the company has already raised about $ 2 billion from Silicon Valley investors and companiesincluding Microsoft, Nvidia, Intel, Amazon and OpenAI.
The real test around the world so far is involved deploying its Figure 02 robots to the BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina in 2025. For a period of 11 months, the previous version of Figure’s humanoid robots focused on picking up metal parts from steel or warehouses and placing them on a welding machine.
The robots are said to have helped produce 30,000 BMW X3 cars while working 10-hour shifts from Monday to Friday. “Image 02 involved the removal and installation of metal parts by welding – a task that is very difficult at high speed and precise and tedious,” according to the BMW Group. It remains to be seen if BMW will also deploy the Humanoid Figure 03 robot to perform more piloting tasks. In a February 2026 press release, the automaker said it is still evaluating future uses for the latest Figure robot.
