MI London 144-3 (84 balls): Koran 60* (39), Puran 58* (22); Curse 2-18
MI London won by seven wickets
Sam Curran’s all-round prowess led MI London to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Leeds in their men’s century opener.
Chasing 144, Curran remained unbeaten on 60 as MI London eased into their target with 16 balls to spare.
After a brilliant spell of 2-18 from Braydon Carrs gave Sunrisers hope, Karan added 93 runs from just 40 balls for the fourth wicket with Nicholas Pooran.
The devastating Puran scored a brilliant 19-ball fifty that took the game away from the Sunrisers, as he hit five fours and five sixes in his unbeaten 58.
Curran earlier took 2-27 and pacer Richard Gleeson also impressed with 4-25 as Sunrisers were bowled out for 143.
Mitchell Marsh scored 41 at the top of the order but Sunrisers struggled for momentum after his departure, although Tom Alsop’s cameo of 31 off 18 balls gave them a late boost.
England’s white-ball captain Harry Brooke fell for eight runs and Sunrisers skipper Jack Crowley scored just 13 runs.
MI London, formerly known as Oval Invincible before a personal investment in Hundred, have won the last three men’s tournaments.
