Jemimah Rodriguez scored an unbeaten 42 to lead Southern Braves to a five-wicket win over Sunrisers Leeds and maintain their perfect start to The Hundred.

Indian batter, who played His country’s first ODI World Cup win Last year, helped the Braves recover from a tough start to chase down 117 runs and scored the winning run with four balls to spare.

It was the Braves’ second win in as many matches in the women’s competition.

Sunrisers pacer Cassidy McCarthy removed both Lizelle Lee and Maia Bouchier with a superb inswinger, while South Africa captain Laura Olvard also fell cheaply as the Braves slumped to 36-3 after 40 balls at Headingley.

But Rodriguez partnered with skipper Sophie Molyneux (21) to find the crucial boundary in the closing stages to keep their innings afloat.

Earlier, Bryony Smith scored 48 off 34 balls for Sunrisers, but EC Wang registered 3-15 and Tilly Curtin-Coleman 2-25 to keep their scoring in check.

Sunrisers looked well set at 78-2 but lost eight wickets to add the last 38 runs, suffering a dramatic collapse to be bowled out for 116 – which proved difficult to defend.
