The Iranian national team is preparing to participate in the final round of the World Cup for the seventh time in its history.
The 2026 World Cup will start in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
Iran’s national team will participate in the World Championship in Group G with the teams of Belgium, Egypt and New Zealand.
Coach Amir Kalinoui claims to lead the Iranian national team and surpass the group stage for the first time in the history of “Persian Lions”.
For the first time, the Iranian team took part in the draw held in Argentina in 1978 and was satisfied with scoring one point.

In Qatar 2022, Iran’s national team was in the second group, alongside England, the United States of America and Wales.
Iran opened their campaign with a hard-fought 2-6 defeat to England before turning things around with a 2-0 win over Wales, but lost 0-1 to the USA to finish third and out of the first round.
