The government of Israel agrees to pressure the settlers in Gaza | Israel-Palestine War News

The ISF, to be ‘friendly countries’, will operate in Palestinian territories outside of Israeli military control.

The Israeli government has approved the entry of the International Stabilization Force (ISF), part of US President Donald Trump’s 20-year “peace plan” in Gaza.

An Israeli official said on Sunday that Israel’s defense minister had approved key legal measures and that the group would work “in cooperation” with the Israeli military, according to the Times of Israel.

There was no time given when the ISF, which will include 200 people from “friendly countries such as Uganda and Morocco”, according to Reuters, will be deployed.

The minister confirmed that Israel would have the power to approve countries that would send troops.

Following the Trump deal, Israel dictates who can and cannot enter the Gaza Strip, as well as how much aid and food can enter, following Israel’s two-year war on Gaza.

Although a “ceasefire” between Hamas and Israel was agreed in October, reports of killings of Palestinians by Israeli forces occur almost daily.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health says that 1,200 Palestinians have been killed since the agreement was launched, while 3,888 have been injured.

The plan also called for an international “Board of Peace” to oversee the administration.

Nickolay Mladenov, head of the Gaza peace process – which most Western countries have refused to join – welcomed the news.

Bulgaria’s former foreign minister and defense minister said Israel allowing the deployment was “an important part of the agreement to stabilize Gaza, support de-escalation, and support the transition to the Palestinian Authority” under the NCAG.

The minister’s approval comes a day before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington, DC in the United States.

Israel currently occupies about 70 percent of Gaza. About 2 million people are forced to live in the shrinking territory, as Israel continues to move the “Yellow Line” it created to settle the areas it left under the first phase of the agreement.

The ISF will operate in areas not under Israeli control.
