The future still bears his name
Today, the Italian “Milan” announced the extension of the contract with the Croatian star Luka Modric, so that the captain of the midfielder will continue to defend the colors of the “Rossoneri” for another season.
The club announced the decision through its official account on the “X” platform, where it published a picture of Modric accompanied by the phrase “The future still bears his name… Luka’s story with the Rossoneri continues.”
Milan did not disclose the financial details of the new contract in a statement, but the extension comes as the culmination of the Croatian international’s outstanding performances since joining the club, both on and off the pitch, despite being in his forties.
Modric joined Milan on a free transfer from Real Madrid in the summer of 2025 after a storied career at the Royals, quickly establishing himself as one of the mainstays of coach Massimiliano Allegri’s side.
Milan are banking on Modric’s vast experience to challenge for the Italian league title and the Champions League next season after becoming one of the most influential players in the dressing room and a beacon for the team’s young talent.
