The German Football Association’s new coach is recruiting his staff at Liverpool
Tomorrow, Friday, the eyes of German football will turn to the city of Frankfurt as the German Football Association prepares to announce the appointment of Jurgen Klopp as the new national team coach to replace Julian Nagelsmann.
The German Confederation had issued an official invitation to hold a press conference without revealing the exact reason for the conference, while the newspaper confirmed…Bild:“The expected step regarding the appointment of Klopp as the new coach of “Manchester”.
The German federation’s committees are scheduled to meet via video communication technology on Friday morning to get Klopp’s final formal approval to take the job before a final decision is announced.
According to Bild, Klopp will sit on the podium at the press conference alongside German Football Association president Bernd Neuendorf, sporting director Rudi Voller and federation spokeswoman Franziska Füle.
In his new mission, Klopp will seek help from a number of close friends who have accompanied him throughout his coaching career, led by his historic assistant Peter Kravets, who will take over as assistant coach.
He also joins Dutch coaching staff Pepe Linders, who worked with Klopp at Liverpool, as well as former Borussia Dortmund player Sven Bender, known as “Mane”, who ended his contract with regional division club Unterhagen at the beginning of July last year after two years at the club.
Bild revealed that Klopp will sign a contract until the end of the 2030 World Cup, reflecting the German FA’s confidence in his ability to return the national team to major title contention.
The deal was made possible after Klopp won the approval of Red Bull, with whom he has a contract until 2029 as director of world football, with no exit clause.
The German federation will not pay a transfer fee for the coach’s services, but will provide compensation through a donation to Red Bull’s Wings for Life foundation, as Bild reported that the value of the donation will be one million euros.
Klopp returns to coaching after a spell away from the managerial chair after leaving Liverpool to take on the new challenge of leading his country’s national team in the next round.
